The Capella series was designed by the Danish architect and designer Illum Wikkelso, a prominent representative of Scandinavian modernism in the post-war period. The furniture pieces were produced in the 1960s by Niels Eilersen, a renowned Danish furniture manufacturer.
The Capella three-seater sofa embodies the organic and minimalist character of Scandinavian design. A striking detail is the design of the front legs, which creates the optical effect that the sofa consists of three separate elements, while in reality it is a single, unified piece.
This particular piece has been reupholstered in a beautiful yellow fabric.
The matching coffee table from the Capella series complements the sofa and shares the same clean lines and Scandinavian aesthetic.
